I Could Be Crazy
Someone asked me how I still manage to smile and push for my dreams with all I am going through. Here was my reply: " I can go in a corner and cry about all the stuff that is not going my way. I could be mad at the world and shut completely down. I could be mad with God and stop going to church. I could start drinking and smoking. But the reason I choose none of those things is because God and I have history. He has always seen me through every trial. I also realize that everything is not always the devil, but God pushing you to your next level. In stead of cursing people out I will write my next worship song. Instead of fighting with my flesh I will praise my way through. Instead of having a nervous breakdown I will keep my mind of God. This is not just religious talk. I really believe this. I could be coco for cocoa puffs, but God must have a great plan for my life.

True Support
I am so excited right now. God has promissed me so much and HE is proving HIMSELF to me . Doing what I love to do is awesome, and I love to see when hard work pays off. I am in a difficult place at the same time because I know that God is about to show me who my true friends and supporters are. Elevation is the true test of friendship and support. People can say "I love you," I'm here for you," I got your back," but actions speak louder than words. I have been there for everybody else. Who's going to be here for me?------------ I have sung at every anniversary, every concert, every funeral, every wedding, every banquet, most times for free!! I wanted to be a blessing to all these people.
I believe when you sow good seeds they come back to you. I have had to learn that even if the people you support never support you, God will send new people your way to encourage you and give you strength because you have already sowed that seed. It''s teh same principle as sowing money: you may never get that back in money but God may give you healing, a new job, a house, or just peace of mind.
Always remember...... people know you love them by your actions- not what you say. Every person in your life that God is elevating, please support them. It can get lonley out here trying to live for God.

God's Law
Law is the key to your life's prosperity. You don't need to seek prosperity when you follow God's law ... it comes with the territory. Jesus came to earth to restore law so we could restore order to the planet. (Matt. 4:17, Matt. 4:23). That's the purpose of law - to restore order. The Kingdom of God is what brings the law of God to earth. NOT RELIGIOUS Laws because they will destroy you and bring death. But the divine laws that give you life and prosperity.
When we live God's way (in his light) even people who are jealous have to recognize the blessings of God on our life (Matt 5:3, Matt 5:13, Matt. 5:14). They will have no choice but to Respect and Recognize it. The hebrew word for light "or" means Knowledge. The laws of God brings results. Your life should produce some kind of fruit.
I'm struggling everyday to live by the laws and principles of the Kingdom of God. I fall short, but as I grow and continue to pray for guidance I believe HE will bring me into a greater revelation on his glory. I want more of God and I am determined to get it. What about you!

Spiritual Breakthrough
It so easy to be tempted to give up in the midst of opposition. Many of us have goals and dreams, but your current situation is telling you no. What you have to understand is that your circumstance is setting the atmosphere for your breakthrough.
Jesus had to go in the wilderness for 40 days fasting and afterward he was hungry and tempted of the enemy. But after the temptation the angels came to "Attend" to HIM. You may be tempted to give up and fall to pieces, but, if you can stand the temptation, God will send his angels to attend to your every need. Jesus was hungry. You may need peace, joy, money, relationship, forgiveness, etc. Whatever you need God's got it and he will attend to you.
As I minister to you I minister to myself. Shalom

Unity In Gospel Music
I want to start this blog with a scripture I read.
1 Corinthians 12:12-26

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
With that being said, I want to talk about something that has been on my mind for a few years now and it relates to indie gospel artist and local gospel groups. It seems to be that we would be on the same team, but we are divided like oil and water - we are afraid to mix. Its that same old crab barrell mentality. Why is this?
I surf facebook quite often and some of the comments I read by independent gospel artist really surprise me. What do we gain by putting others down? It pushes us no further in life or our career than we already are. In fact, according to scripture, if you sow hate you will reap hate. I would much rather see my brother or sister elevated as oppose to bashing them in hopes to make myself look wonderful. What are we gaining? I wish I could see groups come together and just worship God. We should try to complete each other and not compete with each other. God gets glory when we come together. Ok let me throw out some examples here for a minute.
WhenI was a young kid my favorite artist in Sumter (can you believe that we actually have artist here!!!!!) was Shonda English. I came across her music by accident at my uncles house and I fell in-love with the sound. If Shonda never supports me (and she does) I would still support her because I genuinly love her music and who she is. Let me tell you what other artist we have here: The Singing Angels, The Abrams, Kenny Burroughs, Kenny Issac and Deliverance, Deacon Burgess, Kimberly Rose, Frankie Smalls, the Sumter Violinares, the New Boys, Blue Print Deciples, the Watchmen, and this doesn't even include the other artist in the surrounding cities. But what I have found is that everyone wants to be an island to themselves. (Thats not a personal attack.) Its a true statement. If you look at this list you will find that most of these groups are quartet because Sumter is a quartet city. We are quartet all day and proud of it. I sing praise and worship and quartet, but at heart I am quartet all day. It disturbed me when a few weeks ago I read a comment on facebook from a quarteter bashing or poking fun at other quartet singers(I'm not gonna say what the person said because that would give place to the devil and that's not what this is about). That divides the body. Why? Quartet already gets a bad rap and when someone is causing dessension from within it destroys what everyone else is trying to do. Is that unity? Now this individual probably feels justified and their statement could have truth to it, but is facebook the platform for that? Why not have a "Meeting of the Minds" to discuss any issues or concerns? Will it take away from their busy musical careers? People sit behind their computers and throw slams at other artist and groups and that is not cool. This kind of individual is a thorn plant choking the life out of the good seeds that God is planting.
I want to repent if I have ever made anyone feel like they were less than or what they were doing is not important. I'm all about love and unity. If I kill you then I will soon die as well.
Part2 coming soon!!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to leave comments.

Give Me My Money
Recently a music friend of mine made a statement on facebook that really got my attention. She said "why is it that everybody wants to charge outrageous prices to sing on an event now even if they don't have a cd?" She recieved many comments about it, but I had to write a blog about this because it does concern me as well.
I have had the opportunity to plan events and book different "Independent Arstist" for these events as well. Every artist is different. However, there is a consistant trend with independent artist charging more than they are worth. Now....before anyone gets offended please let me clarify that statement. You cannot expect anyone to invest more in your ministry than you are willing to invest. Independent artist have a habit of recording a cd with the assumption thats their ticket to fame and fortune. Recording a cd is just the begining. After that its time to market and promote your music...the real work.
I see it like this...whatever you charge you should be able to draw. If you charge $600 you should be able to draw $600 worth of people or sell $600 worth of tickets. If you can't I have just decided to have a benefit program for you. Not gonna happen. I hear the artist now..."I have expenses." That is true, but what are you doing to make sure you help the promoter sell the event? Look at it this way...if your music is not being played in a particular area, if you have not sent your press kit to the pastors and churches in that area, if you have not added facebook friends from that area, and if you don't have a website your drawing power in low. That doesn't mean you are a bad artist it just means you have work to do as it relates to marketing and promotions. I think independent artist charge because thats what we think its suppose to look like. News flash....we can't operate like major artist because they have a machine behind them. We must be creative in our approach to marketing and promoting our music. Sometimes it takes something as small as putting some gas in your car, driving to the city the week before the engagement, spend all day passing out flyers about who you are with your website on it, sing on the street corner, etc. Do what you have to do to go to the next level.
P.S. The artist who charge big bucks and do no work sit at home most weekends.

Presence of Your Enemies
The bible declares in Psalms 23:5 that God will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies. This is a powerful statement. Many times in life when God is getting ready to elevate and bless us it will seem like everthing around you is going crazy. It will get to the point where you feel like you just can't take it anymore. Fact be told most of us are one pay check away from lights off, car repo, foreclosure, no food, etc. Some of you are at the point of a nervous break down. BUT DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP. God has a strange way about himself. He will put you in a place where no one can help you but HIM so HE can get the glory out of your life. Thats the table he prepares in the presence of your enemies. If you have no enemies, you have no table. Let them laugh and talk about your situation. They will eat those words when you come out on top. And you will come out on top because God promised it. SOmetimes letting the car or the house go is a benefit to you. Less stress. Stop trying to keep up with other people who don't have your experience nor your money. Maybe God let them take the truck so you would be forced to get a smaller car to save on gas in this season. God has a way that is mighty sweet. It's doesn't always feel good but it is working for the good.
Some of you are coming into the greatest season of your life. Money is about to fall into your hands. Your body is about to be healed. Your job situation is about to change. Wealth and riches is in your house. God's going to give you mental clarity. YOur business is about to boom right in the midst of resession. Ideas are about to flow in your mind like never before right in the presence of you enemies. Stress is a killer and why should I be dead when God promised me abundant life?

My Daughter is Dead
DO you have goals and dreams that you are trying to reach? Is there something you feel God has called you to do, but you just can't seem to jump into it? Are you frustrated because what God has shown you in the spirit is not manifesting in the natural. Well.... you'r ein good company. I have been there before. I would always wonder why I was not acomplishing the things that were inside of me to do. I was getting angry, bitter, and weary while waiting on God. Recently the story of Jarious's Daughter came to mind. It has helped me in the times when I get discouraged and want to give up. Let's review the story. It can be found in Mark 5:35-43.
Once, while Jesus was journeying about, He passed near a town where a man named Jairus lived. This man was a ruler in the synagogue, and he had just one little daughter about twelve years of age. At the time that Jesus was there the little daughter was very sick, and at last she lay a-dying.
Her father heard that there was a wonderful man near the town, who was healing sick people whom no one else could help, and in his despair he ran out into the streets to search for Him. He found Jesus walking in the midst of a crowd of people, and when he saw Him he fell down at Jesus feet and besought Him to come into his house, to heal his daughter. And Jesus said, Yes, he would go with him. But there were so many people begging to be healed, and so many looking to see what happened, that the crowd thronged them, and kept them from moving fast. And before they reached the house one of the man's servants came to meet them, and said, "Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master to come farther."
But instantly Jesus turned to the father and said, "Fear not; only believe, and she shall be made whole." And He went on with Jairus, to the house.
When they came to the house, they heard the sound of weeping and lamentation; the household was mourning for the little daughter, who was dead. Jesus sent all the strangers away from the door, and only three of His disciples and the father and mother of the child went in with Him. And when He was within, He said to the mourning people, "Weep not; she is not dead; she sleepeth."
When He had passed, they laughed Him to scorn, for they knew that she was dead.
Then Jesus left them all, and went alone into the chamber where the little daughter lay. And when He was there, alone, He went up to the bed where she was, and bent over her, and took her by the hand. And He said, "Maiden, arise."
And her spirit came unto her again! And she lived, and grew up in her father's house.
Now most of us can identiy with some part of this story or at least with one of the characters. Jairus's daughter represents the things that God has placed inside of us that we feel are dying or already dead. Here are some key things to point out in this story.
1. Jairus was able to get a conversation with Jesus: Imagine how many people were around Jesus and yet Jairus was able to get close to him and make his request. The key is for us to get as close to the presence of the lord as we can. While in his presence you can make your request known. He didn't let the fact that other people were trying to do the same thing stop him. NOTE: If you have an idea and you think it won't work because someone else is doing it..take a chance. It just may work.
2. Jairus was patient: Imagine your child almost dead and you find the one person who can restore them back to health. Jesus was being stoped all the way to Jairus' house. He even healed the woman with the issue of blood while on the way. Jairus had to be alittle upset that all these people seemed to be taking up his time. Thats where some of you are. You think eveybody else is being blessed except you and you are always at the back of the line. God is doing this on purpose so HE can get the glory out of your situation. When HE promotes you no one can take you down but him.
3. Jairus didn't dwell on the bad news: While they were on the way back someone came and told Jairus to give up because his daughter had died. How many people have told you to stop dreaming or made you feel like you were stupid for believing that you could start your own business, go higher in life, etc? Jarious didn't let that stop him. He still wanted Jesus to come there.
4. Jesus put unbelievers out: Isn't it something when Jesus comes to your situation and demands that you get rid of all the doubtful people. Stop letting sad, depressed, unenthused, negative people hang around you. They can't breathe life into you because they are as discouraged as you are.
5. Jesus Rebuked the laugh: When Jesus said that the daughter was not dead the people laughed at him and thought he was crazy. Kind of like what they did to me when I said I was going to start recording my own music, start my own production company, manage groups, write my own book, have my own building. I did what Jesus did....put negative people far away from me. Don't let those people hang around because they will make you doubt yourself. Choose people that will tell you the truth and pour into you.
One last note: When Jairus came to Jesus his daughter was not dead just sick. By the time he got to her she was dead (in th eyes of people). God will sometimes let you look like you have lost the battle so he can come in a show all your enemies that He is God and that he has you covered. Thats why the bible says despise not the day of small beginnings. What seems small right now can be a multi-million dollar company later. Follow your heart and do what God had placed inside of you to do. It just may work!

Detox Your Destiny
Just a quick blog..... I had a interesting night tonight. It was one of those moments where you realize that your steps have to be ordered by the lord and you can not allow people who are not headed in the direction of destiny in which you are headed to distract you. The bible says it like this "Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go." (Proverbs 22:24).
Don't allow people who don't apprecite the things God has placed in you to drain you of your goals and dreams. Have you ever heard the statment "misery loves company?" Some people are so miserable that they want you to be miserable to. It is toxic to have these people around. No matter what you do they are never satisfied.
Detox the people out of your life that will not celebrate what God is doing in and through you.

The Church & Money
I was talking with a family member earlier today and decided to write a blog on the issue of church and money. This is going to be very short, but I have always wondered about this topic.
Because I am a gospel artist I get to see and hear alot of the behind the scenes on booking artist and booking churches for events (concerts, weddings, etc.) One thing I have noticed is that many churches have an issue with you charging people to come into a concert or event and they have a problem with you selling your merchandise, etc. Have you ever heard this statement "You ain't suppose to be selling stuff or charging to get in God's house." The question I have is why can't you sell merch or charge people to come into a concert or event, but the church can charge you to have it there? Is it that the church can charge, but you can't? Is it that you can't sell your merch, but they can sell (for a few hours) their sanctuary, fellowship hall, family life center, etc? Is that the same thing? Not only that, but it seems that the price to rent these grand cathedrals are getting higher and higher. We have even arrived at charging people "sowing seeds" for healing, financial blessings, miracles, etc. However, as an artist, I have heard this statment a million times "We really want you all to come to our event. Now... you know we can't pay you, but God is gonna bless you all for helping us." What???????????
I'm not saying if its wrong or right (YET). What do you think? What has been your experience?

Talented and Tormented
There are thousands of people still talking about the most prominant subject of Whitney Houston's death. It was sudden and unexpected. Many people called her voice the sound track of her life. The word sound in the greek is ehos where we get the english word echo. An echo is a sound of the past. What sound track are you listening to? What sound track was Whitney living or listening to that would make her unhappy and abuse prescription drugs as Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, or Don Coneilious with suicide?
We might not admit it but most people are either homicidal or suicidal at one point or another in their life. There is rage, anger, pain, hurt, and confusion. Her music blessed millions of people. She blessed the world. What was so painful that it could send to her prescription drugs. They found sleeping pills which means she wanted to sleep as did Michael Jackson. What was she trying to escape? Millions of people struggle to sleep and struggle to be awake because they are alarmed. YOu can be rich, famous, glamorous, talented, anointed and still be tormented.
What do you do when you are that gifted? She had a divine charge and authenticity about her life and her voice. She sang with such confidence and yet with so much reverance. But there is a human side. What was Michael Jackson thinking? What was the sound track of his life? What was Don thinking when he drew a gun on himself? It's that homicide and suicide thing that always lerks in the shadows of our lives. Some people express it in different ways-eating to much sugar, sodium, acholism, drug addiction. We all have to watch what is guiding us. What are you hearing. Faith cometh by hearing. Look at the word addiciton...something is DICtating to you what to do. You believe in what you hear. Paul said it best. He said that because he had been given this divine revelation or this special giftedness, he was given a throne in his flesh. A messenger from satan. Not the two horn satan, but negative emotions that says you can't be comfortable or live without excessive eating or sleeping pills. If you belive that you are less than what God says you are, it will manifest. Weather atheletes, musicians, entertainers, dancers, politians, preachers (anointed in the pulpit, but annoyed with there life)most gifted people battle between their divinity and the humanity.
The next time your humanity tries to challenge your divinity (who God called you to be) listen to that small voice inside of you. It will tell you what you what God thinks of you. Read Jeremiah 29:11. God knew you before you came here and developed these attitudes about yourself. Why are you here? God put you here for a reason.

Clark Kent A.K.A. Superman
Clark Kent is a fictional character that serves as the civilian and secret identity of the superhero Superman. He was seen mostly as a disguise for Superman, enabling him to mix with ordinary people. In the earliest Superman comics, Clark Kent's primary purpose was to fulfill the perceived dramatic requirement that a costumed superhero cannot remain on full duty all the time. Clark thus acted as little more than a front for Superman's activities. Although his name and history were taken from his early life with his adoptive Earth parents, everything about Clark was staged for the benefit of his alternate identity.
I know you may be wondering "where is he coming from?" Well, here it is. Jesus A.K. A. Elijah, A.K.A. Karen, A.K.A. Tommy, A.K.A. Benny, A.K.A. YOU went to the cross so that he could vacariously live through us. In other words, he went in the booth under your name so that you could walk in the world and fulfill your assigment in liberty. He died as Clark Kent so we could walk out as Superman. And just like Superman had power, God has given you power: Power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (luke 10:19), power to get wealth (Dueteronomy 8:18), power to be a witness (Acts 1:8). You get it????
We don't belong to this world. We are not from here. Jesus "the real Superman" is living on the inside of us to acomplish through us His will and purpose. When the enemy looks at you he doesn't see you because you died over two thousand years ago. He sees Jesus and that's why he attacks. He's not hitting you first, he's hitting you back. His main goal is to make sure you never find out who you really are.
If you wonder why so many people "hate on you", run your name in the ground, or laugh at your small beginnings, it's because they see what you can't see...FAVOR. God's favor is on you and the power you hold scares them.

Angelina Jolie.... Take A Stand
She's beautiful from head to toe, but Angelina Jolie's right leg was the star of the Oscars show. Wearing a stunning black dress with a thigh-high slit, repeatedly struck a pose that allowed her right gam to breath. Later, screenwriter Jim Rash, who won for "The Descendants," mocked Jolie on stage, jutting out his own (thankfully covered) leg. LOL There is a lesson to learn here.
In Deuteronomy 11:24 God told the people "Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the western sea." Angelina was not trying to own the red carpet at the oscars, but her stand, where she put her feet has people watching her all around the world.
Every place you want to go in life take a noticeable stand there. Someone will notice you. Create your own red carpet in life. If your gift is baking cookies, writing music, fixing cars, graphic design, writing poetry, dancing, or whatever it may be create the lights, camera, action for it. No one is going to just pay attention to you, you've got to take a stand. Strike the pose!!!! Read some of the other blogs. i think you will enjoy!

The Club, The Church, No Judgement Zone (A Must Read)
Hello Folks. I've been meaning to do this blog for a while, but time never permitted me. Well.... here it is. I have had the privalidge to a visit a club within the past year. Yes....a real live club and your minister, bishop, praise and worship leader, musician, songwriter, gospel artist was there. Now the reason I went is private, however I will say it was not to party. While I was there I was amazed that God was there too. Ask me how I know that....... okay thanks for asking. I know that because HE was talking to me. God revealed some things to me through my experience.
First let me say that before this I had never been in a club in my life. Of course, I partied alittle in college, but for the most part I am a church boy all day. Church is my life. It's a wonder they didn't play the shouting music when I walked in because everything about me says preacher. LOL
Before I got to the club (who's name I will not mention) I just knew I was going to be uncomfortable. I just knew that all eyes would be on me when I walked in. I just knew that everybody would say OMG. I just knew they would crucify me in an asumption that I had backslid and left God. I was waiting for the nurse to come out with the white sheet and the oil to cast the devil out of me. After all thats what we do in church. To my surprise, none of that happened. In fact, it was quite the contrary.
I felt right at home. Why???? The church people were in there too. LOL But they were different. People who recognized me greeted me like everything was all good. Some of them had heard my muisc on the computer and showed me much respect. No one questioned my salvation, no one sat me down out of the "club choir," no one stood me in front of the "club" to say I was sorry for anything. You have to understand that I was in shock. People were not concerned about me as much as they were concerned about getting what they came for. (What ever that may have been. LOL)
As I sat there ( I didn't dance because I wasn't there for that) the holy spirit began to talk to me. Yes he talked to me in the club. I saw people who I knew were anointed, but had not seen them in church in a while. I saw people with strong callings on there life. I ask God within myself "why are they so free here and not at church?" He gave me revelation. He showed me that the club is a no judgement zone for the most part. They don't feel condemed by the people they are partying with. NO one is hindering them from getting what they came for because of their personal issue. If two people have an issue with each other they ither talk it out or duke it out, but nobody is being fake. Finally I got it.
I have found that the church can be very judgemental as it relates to people and their issues (sins). Some walk around being fake and phony like they are in the anointing 24/7. We crucify people when they fall but we want the church to pray for us when it's our family member. We put sister watermelon's daughter on blast when she gets pregnant out of wedlock, but want to hide it when your child is a lesbian or homosexual. Then we make the (girl only) stand up and tell the church she is sorry for getting pregnant. What???? She didn't have sex with the church. Her repentance is only to God because HE died for her. This is my favorite one "I feel something in my spirit about you." Ok and I feel something too you don't have a life. If God showed you something it is for you to pray. If you are saying it to other people or bringing me out to flaunt your gift and make me shame... you have lost me. You have done more damage to the kingdom than help. Church folks do this all the time because they don't have a life. A lot of church people are bitter, broke, busted, and discusted. Thats why we can't have joy or pray for anyone else. We are miserable trying to prove to people that we are holy and saved when God is dealing with you on a daily basis. Everybody has something they need to constantly pray about. Everyone has a closet. I don't care how big your church is, how many armor bearers you have, how fancy your car is, how well you sing, how eloquent your words are, or how many gifts you have... you've got a thorn. In Galations 6:1 it says that if you are spiritual you should restore someone who has a fault.
My greatest ministry is not when I'm preaching, singng, or any of that. My greatest ministry is when I talk to my drunk cousin, when I give a homeless person some food or money, when I hold a little child who doesn't have love. Thats real ministry. After all that's what Matthew 25 tells us to do. A true father knows how to circumsize his son without castrating him. When you kill people for everything they do you can cut off positive potential for kingdom production. Help to cut off what should not be, but don't abort the potential. Remember the law of sowing and reaping... you reap what you sow. If you sow mercy you will reap mercy when it's your time and trust me it will be your time. No one looks like who they will become today.
I'm not saying that we should compromise the gospel, but we should preach and teach it in love. Jesus was all about love. The very people we frown upon are the very people he spent alot of his time with. Next week I'm going to do a blog "There Is Hope For Recovery." Feel free to comment. Lets start the conversation.

God's In Control
I've had an interesting day so far. I had a few issues, but as soon as I got to 8am service the burden w as lifted. As we led praise and worship God assured me that HE is in control of our lives and our times are in his hand. Minister Harriston preached a dynamic sermon that really gave me revelation on some things.
I'm now preparing for my play this evening. I'm having so much fun with this play. I have gotten close to some awesome people that have really blessed my life.
Remember that whatever you are going through God is in control and he knows whats best for you!!!! Enjoy life and let God arise and HIS enemies be scattered!!!

Life and Purpose
WOW! It's already the second month in 2012. Time really does fly. I am thank and praising God for all the awesome things He is doing for me. Can you belive I'm getting ready to be in my first "REAL" play. I'm so proud of myself. I never thought i could muster up the guts to do anything besides singing or preaching, but the acting bug has bit me. I could kinda get use to this. LOL
I guess you might be wondering what made me do it. Well, the first time i was asked i declined because I really wasn't interested in this sort of thing. however, on the very same day i got another call from a singing buddy of mine about doing the play. I said "well...maybe God is trying to tell me something." I called the director to set up an audition and suprisingly got the part.
The play is called "CROWNS" by Regina Taylor. I guess you are wondering who that is. DO you remember the movie Lean On Me? Regina played as the mother in that movie. Crowns is Regina Taylor’s music-filled celebration of church going black women and their hats. In the play, a young woman named Yolanda loses her brother to street violence in Brooklyn, NY. She is devastated, alone and helpless without him. She moves to Darlington, SC to live with her grandmother and gradually she comes to terms with her grief and loss. She attends church and meets a group of women who speak the language of the hat. In that language they impart their wisdom about life, faith and love to her. Crowns is an inspirational and uplifting play that is recommended for all audiences.
Performance dates are February 9-12 and 16-19, 2012. The Thursday - Saturday performances will be at 8:00pm and the Sunday performance will be at 3:00pm.
Tickets go on sale February 6, 2012. If you have any questions call Sumter Little Theatre at 803-775-2150 during our box office hours of
3- 6pm. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12 for students/seniors/military.
I will keep you guys posted on how the play is going.

Problem Are Signs of Prosperity
Have you found yourself bogged down with life's problems? I have found that anytime you find yourself dealing with a problem God is getting ready to prosper you. Problems and triblations are signs that you are moving in the right direction. When you make a determinaiton to welcome everything that God has for you the enemy will do all he can to make you think your life is going in the opposite direction. Do be tricked him. Your problem is your prosperity. Start reading proverbs. It will help you understand and deal with life alittle better.
