Angelina Jolie.... Take A Stand

She's beautiful from head to toe, but Angelina Jolie's right leg was the star of the Oscars show. Wearing a stunning black dress with a thigh-high slit, repeatedly struck a pose that allowed her right gam to breath. Later, screenwriter Jim Rash, who won for "The Descendants," mocked Jolie on stage, jutting out his own (thankfully covered) leg. LOL There is a lesson to learn here.

In Deuteronomy 11:24 God told the people "Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the western sea." Angelina was not trying to own the red carpet at the oscars, but her stand, where she put her feet has people watching her all around the world.

Every place you want to go in life take a noticeable stand there. Someone will notice you. Create your own red carpet in life. If your gift is baking cookies, writing music, fixing cars, graphic design, writing poetry, dancing, or whatever it may be create the lights, camera, action for it. No one is going to just pay attention to you, you've got to take a stand. Strike the pose!!!! Read some of the other blogs. i think you will enjoy!

The Club, The Church, No Judgement Zone (A Must Read)

Hello Folks. I've been meaning to do this blog for a while, but time never permitted me. Well.... here it is. I have had the privalidge to a visit a club within the past year. Yes....a real live club and your minister, bishop, praise and worship leader, musician, songwriter, gospel artist was there. Now the reason I went is private, however I will say it was not to party. While I was there I was amazed that God was there too. Ask me how I know that....... okay thanks for asking. I know that because HE was talking to me. God revealed some things to me through my experience.

First let me say that before this I had never been in a club in my life. Of course, I partied alittle in college, but for the most part I am a church boy all day. Church is my life. It's a wonder they didn't play the shouting music when I walked in because everything about me says preacher. LOL

Before I got to the club (who's name I will not mention) I just knew I was going to be uncomfortable. I just knew that all eyes would be on me when I walked in. I just knew that everybody would say OMG. I just knew they would crucify me in an asumption that I had backslid and left God. I was waiting for the nurse to come out with the white sheet and the oil to cast the devil out of me. After all thats what we do in church. To my surprise, none of that happened. In fact, it was quite the contrary.

I felt right at home. Why???? The church people were in there too. LOL But they were different. People who recognized me greeted me like everything was all good. Some of them had heard my muisc on the computer and showed me much respect. No one questioned my salvation, no one sat me down out of the "club choir," no one stood me in front of the "club" to say I was sorry for anything. You have to understand that I was in shock. People were not concerned about me as much as they were concerned about getting what they came for. (What ever that may have been. LOL)

As I sat there ( I didn't dance because I wasn't there for that) the holy spirit began to talk to me. Yes he talked to me in the club. I saw people who I knew were anointed, but had not seen them in church in a while. I saw people with strong callings on there life. I ask God within myself "why are they so free here and not at church?" He gave me revelation. He showed me that the club is a no judgement zone for the most part. They don't feel condemed by the people they are partying with. NO one is hindering them from getting what they came for because of their personal issue. If two people have an issue with each other they ither talk it out or duke it out, but nobody is being fake. Finally I got it.

I have found that the church can be very judgemental as it relates to people and their issues (sins). Some walk around being fake and phony like they are in the anointing 24/7. We crucify people when they fall but we want the church to pray for us when it's our family member. We put sister watermelon's daughter on blast when she gets pregnant out of wedlock, but want to hide it when your child is a lesbian or homosexual. Then we make the (girl only) stand up and tell the church she is sorry for getting pregnant. What???? She didn't have sex with the church. Her repentance is only to God because HE died for her. This is my favorite one "I feel something in my spirit about you." Ok and I feel something too you don't have a life. If God showed you something it is for you to pray. If you are saying it to other people or bringing me out to flaunt your gift and make me shame... you have lost me. You have done more damage to the kingdom than help. Church folks do this all the time because they don't have a life. A lot of church people are bitter, broke, busted, and discusted. Thats why we can't have joy or pray for anyone else. We are miserable trying to prove to people that we are holy and saved when God is dealing with you on a daily basis. Everybody has something they need to constantly pray about. Everyone has a closet. I don't care how big your church is, how many armor bearers you have, how fancy your car is, how well you sing, how eloquent your words are, or how many gifts you have... you've got a thorn. In Galations 6:1 it says that if you are spiritual you should restore someone who has a fault.

My greatest ministry is not when I'm preaching, singng, or any of that. My greatest ministry is when I talk to my drunk cousin, when I give a homeless person some food or money, when I hold a little child who doesn't have love. Thats real ministry. After all that's what Matthew 25 tells us to do. A true father knows how to circumsize his son without castrating him. When you kill people for everything they do you can cut off positive potential for kingdom production. Help to cut off what should not be, but don't abort the potential. Remember the law of sowing and reaping... you reap what you sow. If you sow mercy you will reap mercy when it's your time and trust me it will be your time. No one looks like who they will become today.

I'm not saying that we should compromise the gospel, but we should preach and teach it in love. Jesus was all about love. The very people we frown upon are the very people he spent alot of his time with. Next week I'm going to do a blog "There Is Hope For Recovery." Feel free to comment. Lets start the conversation.

God's In Control

I've had an interesting day so far. I had a few issues, but as soon as I got to 8am service the burden w as lifted. As we led praise and worship God assured me that HE is in control of our lives and our times are in his hand. Minister Harriston preached a dynamic sermon that really gave me revelation on some things.

I'm now preparing for my play this evening. I'm having so much fun with this play. I have gotten close to some awesome people that have really blessed my life.

Remember that whatever you are going through God is in control and he knows whats best for you!!!! Enjoy life and let God arise and HIS enemies be scattered!!!

Life and Purpose

WOW! It's already the second month in 2012. Time really does fly. I am thank and praising God for all the awesome things He is doing for me. Can you belive I'm getting ready to be in my first "REAL" play. I'm so proud of myself. I never thought i could muster up the guts to do anything besides singing or preaching, but the acting bug has bit me. I could kinda get use to this. LOL

I guess you might be wondering what made me do it. Well, the first time i was asked i declined because I really wasn't interested in this sort of thing. however, on the very same day i got another call from a singing buddy of mine about doing the play. I said "well...maybe God is trying to tell me something." I called the director to set up an audition and suprisingly got the part.

The play is called "CROWNS" by Regina Taylor. I guess you are wondering who that is. DO you remember the movie Lean On Me? Regina played as the mother in that movie. Crowns is Regina Taylor’s music-filled celebration of church going black women and their hats. In the play, a young woman named Yolanda loses her brother to street violence in Brooklyn, NY. She is devastated, alone and helpless without him. She moves to Darlington, SC to live with her grandmother and gradually she comes to terms with her grief and loss. She attends church and meets a group of women who speak the language of the hat. In that language they impart their wisdom about life, faith and love to her. Crowns is an inspirational and uplifting play that is recommended for all audiences.

Performance dates are February 9-12 and 16-19, 2012. The Thursday - Saturday performances will be at 8:00pm and the Sunday performance will be at 3:00pm.

Tickets go on sale February 6, 2012. If you have any questions call Sumter Little Theatre at 803-775-2150 during our box office hours of
3- 6pm. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12 for students/seniors/military.

I will keep you guys posted on how the play is going.

Problem Are Signs of Prosperity

Have you found yourself bogged down with life's problems? I have found that anytime you find yourself dealing with a problem God is getting ready to prosper you. Problems and triblations are signs that you are moving in the right direction. When you make a determinaiton to welcome everything that God has for you the enemy will do all he can to make you think your life is going in the opposite direction. Do be tricked him. Your problem is your prosperity. Start reading proverbs. It will help you understand and deal with life alittle better.
